I’m a touch early for father’s day but this is my dad in all his grandparent glory holding his newest grandkids Tommy & Spencer. Couldn’t love him anymore if I tried.

Attention Chicago Cubs. You have completed 21% of the season and things are just not going your way. I wasn’t expecting you to win the series this year but I was hoping you’d make a push for the wild card. Your offense is slacking with the exception of Ryan Theriot and Marlon Byrd. What’s with that? You have Aramis Ramirez and Derrek Lee who would probably be better off sitting on the bench. The plus side is Castro looks like he’ll blossom into a hell of a player. Might be a little soon to move Theriot over to 2B and have Fontenot and Baker both in the dug out. But he’s a good kid no doubt. The bullpen is in shambles. Big Z and a reliever? Gimme a break. I won’t even really comment on the bullpen because it could only be worse if it got hit by lightning but Carlos Marmol makes me nervous everytime he comes into a game as the closer. If you’re going to reassign Zambrano I’d sooner just phone up Cashman and make a deal. The positives I see which are very few from the mound perspective is that Dempster is giving you good games (that you end up dropping) and the same could be said for Gorzelanny (with the same result) so you’ve got a little under 130 games to do now so make the most of them boys. Win some games. Show some heart. Play like you want the Cubs to have a World Series title again, it’s only been over 100 years.

So the baseball team I was going to play on this year couldn’t find enough players to actually put on a team. My heart is broken, it was going to be such a rad season. We were even already slated for provincials since the team won last year. Ugh. Completely day ruining. I just bought cleats! I know I could join a big ball slow pitch team but it just isn’t the same, not even close. So I will either continue the summer tradition of two man baseball with merwyn on empty baseball diamonds across south eastern manitoba or find a team in Winnipeg, which I looked into and are really expensive to play for and I’ve already missed the opening practices. Tomorrow is another day I guess.

Life Update #2
I’m still alive. I just don’t have wireless internet while I’m living at my parents’ house and I really don’t like using their computer. That’s right, for anybody that’s late getting on the information train, I am indeed back in the 204. I’m on the hunt for good times, positive attitudes, a job and beautiful babies. Also I’m working on not falling into my old life again. I do not however hate the city of Edmonton in fact quite the opposite. I know I will be back to visit before to much time passes by. I’ve left behind very close friends that I made while living there. I miss ‘em, the location of important people in your life isn’t always fair I guess, but I’ll be seeing them again sooner than later. Baseball tryouts are on the horizon, and the MLB season is underway so I’m a happy man right now. Also, hockey playoffs start this week, but does anybody really care about hockey after March? It’s to nice outside to sit on a couch and watch people play hockey. Anyway, I’ll try to update this thing when I can, no promises that much will happen until around May when I’m expecting to move into my own place. Be safe in the mean time kiddies. Go Cubs!
